began Aikido in 1980 at Vancouver Aikikai under Kawahara Shihan (technical director of the Canadian Aikido Federation) and continues to study with him. He has received the rank of Yondan (4th. dan). Sensei St. Germain has been teaching at Granville Aikikai (now called English Bay Aikikai) for more than fifteen years and at Gathering Place Aikikai since it opened in 1997.

Greg Kapetanakis - assistant teacher-
started Aikido in Sept. 1996 with Sensei St. Germain. He was awarded his 2nd. dan in June 2006. Greg has been teaching for five years.
